Introduction
These rules are written to ensure the safety and integrity of the Adventure24 Adventure Race. Following these rules will make your race expericne, and those of the other racers, better. These rules will be enforced by the Checkpoint Adventures staff and the Adventure24 volunteers.
Protests
A member of the race team can make a protest after completion of the race to the race director, or at any TA. After submission of the protest form, the RD will consult with the race advisory committee. The race advisory committee is made up of the Checkpoint Adventures staff. All decisions by the race advisory committee are final.
Time CutOff(s)
There will be at least one cutoff during the race. If you are unable to reach the cutoff, you will be either routed to another course or asked to stop depending on the cutoff. The penalty for not taking the proper cutoff is described below.
Mandatory Gear Check
All mandatory gear must be approved at registration by race organizers. To begin the race, all members of the team must return a completed mandatory gear checklist to race staff. Mandatory gear will be checked at some point during the race too. A time penalty will be accessed for missing gear, which is established below.
Team members withdrawing
Upon race official approval, teams may continue if two people withdraw, providing at least two members are still racing. The remaining competitors must carry full team mandatory gear. Voluntary withdrawals must occur at transition areas.
Helping others on the course
Teams are permitted to help each other during the race. Teams may be awarded a time bonus for helping other teams in need.
Prizes
The winner shall be determined as the fastest complete team to complete the course after any penalties/credits have been added. Teams will be of 3 or 4 competitors, either mixed gender, male, or female. Cash prizes will be awarded to four person, mixed gender teams ONLY, as described in the FAQ section.
