Endurance Podcasts

Though Endurance Radio has been around at least since January 2005 (according to their archives) and I’ve seen their website before, I recently just got into listening to some of their podcasts. Endurance radio publishes about two podcasts per week with people in endurance related sports. Each podcast is a telephone interview and last around 15 minutes. The podcasts include amateur athletes, endurance coaches, race directors, and even professional champions like Xterra Champion Melanie McQuaid. It seems many of the podcasts are triathlon podcasts, but there are some for ultra runners, adventure racers, and more. I recently listened to the podcast with Xterra creator Dave Nicholas. Who knew that Xterra was an idea by the guy that parks the cars at one of Dave’s events!

Ultra O-gaine registration is open

Registration for the Ultra O-gaine opened today at 12:01 AM. What is the Ultra O-gaine you ask? Ultra distance Orienteering and roGAINE; the Ultra O-gaine will be fraught with difficult navigation throughout the rugged terrain of Pine Log WMA. This area has some of the highest points in the greater Metro Atlanta area. With streams and peaks throughout, you will be shocked you are so close to Atlanta! Route choice will be extremely important as will your use of cross country travel. Don’t plan to be on roads or trails for long periods of time!

There are three different course options:
Ultra: Up to 24 hours of navigation
Half-Ultra: Up to 12 hours of navigation
Rogaine: Up to 6 hours of navigation

Teams: Solos and teams of two and three
